Blood transfusion workers were set to strike from Wednesday to Friday of next week against the threatened closure of the Colindale centre, north London. They are members of the Unite union.
Demonstrations to defend the NHS hit streets across London on Saturday of last week. Some 5,000 marched through Ealing, west London. And hundreds protested in Brent, north west London and in Woolwich, south east London.
Yorkshire health workers vote for strikes
Workers in the Unison union in the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust have voted by 95 percent for strikes against redundancies and pay cuts.
Three big local demonstrations to defend local hospitals will take place across London on 15 September. Protests are organised for Ealing, Brent and Greenwich. A fourth demonstration will hit the streets of Hammersmith on 22 September.
Activists have been building three big demos in defiance of planned A&E and hospital closures across London. This is in the run up to the national TUC demonstration on 20 October.
