The RMT union has suspended strikes set for this week on the London Underground. The union said bosses made new proposals at talks.

The introduction of Night Tube on London Underground will not go ahead on 12 September as planned.

Workers at First Great Western (FGW) rail struck for 72 hours over the bank holiday weekend. 

Unions have suspended London Tube strikes planned for Tuesday and Thursday of this week. The three unions—RMT, TSSA and Unite—said progress had been made in talks with bosses.

 

Workers at City Cruises on London’s Thames River were set to strike on Thursday of this week.

Tube workers have fought back against the Tories’ agenda. The two 24-hour shutdowns in July and August showed the power unions have to resist.

Tube workers in London were set to strike on Tuesday and Thursday of next week against attacks on conditions, health and safety and jobs. 

The RMT union has announced two further 24-hour Tube strikes for 25 and 27 August. The other three unions were yet to confirm if they’d join the walkouts as Socialist Worker went to press. 

First Great Western (FGW) rail workers in the RMT union are set to launch another wave of industrial action from next weekend.
