A lecturers’ strike is set to hit further education colleges across England on Tuesday 10 November. The bosses’ Association of Colleges has recommended a pay freeze for 2015/16.
Around 600 students and lecturers lobbied MPs in parliament on Wednesday of last week. They were protesting against funding cuts to English for Speakers of Other Languages (Esol) provision.

Max Watson, Unison union branch secretary at London Metropolitan University, will be making his appeal against compulsory redundancy on 27 August and supporters call a protest in solidarity on the day.
