Margaret Thatcher built her reputation and career on destroying jobs and council housing, and with the blood of soldiers in the Falklands.
I’m not sorry to see her go.
She represented something rotten in Britain that politicians such as Tony Blair and David Cameron are trying to build on.
It’s sickening that the Labour Party leadership are gushing over a woman who made her reputation by attacking our class. It shows how completely out of touch they are with the hardship ordinary people face.
To people who say we shouldn’t celebrate, I’d say it’s not just about her. It’s about the misery and division she sowed. We should celebrate the end of somebody who represented all that is rotten under capitalism. We’ve been storing up the fireworks to celebrate.
On the day Thatcher died a man came to our office selling water coolers. He asked me if I’d heard the news.
He was in his 50s and you could see he was from industry. You could see in his eyes that he had a history with Thatcher.
I said, yes I’ve heard the news and we’ll be celebrating. He said, too right.
