Some 60 people protested outside the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive meeting in Barnsley on Monday of this week.
The executive is made up overwhelmingly of Labour councillors. In April this year they took away free train travel for disabled and older people.
One of the councillors, Roy Miller, revealed that Labour had been divided by our protests.
Some councillors including himself had proposed a compromise £1 fare per journey for older people, but the majority had voted to charge half fares in place of the full fares.
This concession shows that our protests are having an impact.
