Issue 2263

People are organising to defend Travellers at Dale Farm from eviction which could take place any time after 31 August.

Activists are establishing “Camp Constant”, a permanent base at the site, from 27 August.

They plan to act as human rights monitors and engage in civil disobedience to protect Travellers.

  • Dale Farm Solidarity has called a protest on Saturday 10 September at 1pm against the eviction and the Tories’ Localism Bill. It will assemble at Wickford train station (30 minutes from London Liverpool Street) and march to Dale Farm.
  • To sign up for a text alert in case of eviction, or to arrange spending a night at Camp Constant, go to https://smsalerts.tachanka.org/dalefarm/

  • Check http://dalefarm.wordpress.com/ for updates on the campaign.
