About 1,000 CWU union members and their supporters marched through Beeston in Nottingham on Saturday of last week (see right).
Jointly organised with the Labour Party locally, there was a significant turnout of Labour Party members. There were 20 banners on the march.
Union members had even acquired a second hand military tank-like vehicle to show they meant business!
CWU general secretary Billy Hayes won applause when he talked about following the example of Egypt.
Richard Buckwell, from the Notts Trades Council, won further applause with calls to follow the example of the students, build for 26 March and supporting a strike by council workers this Thursday.
