David Cameron and George Osborne like to tell us that Britain is short of cash.
This is the excuse they wheel out to justify slashing our jobs and services.
But it’s rubbish. Not only are the Tories busying themselves giving tax breaks to the rich, they’ve even found time to splash the cash doing up their own homes.
Cameron has spent some £1.8 million on “renovations” and “refurbishment” of Downing Street. The money probably went on his home at Number 11 and on George Osborne’s flat at Number 10.
