The leader of the racist English Defence League (EDL) in Bristol has been arrested in connection with racist graffiti sprayed on mosques and temples.
It is believed that some of the graffiti included the letters “EDL” in red ink. Mickey Bayliss was arrested on Wednesday of last week along with another man. Police have not charged them and they have been released on bail.
Around 300 EDL supporters rallied in Bristol in July. A counter-protest organised by Unite Against Fascism, trade unions and local groups drew some 1,500 people.
