A student was killed on Cairo university’s campus last Monday as state forces attacked pro-Muslim Brotherhood protesters.
Two journalists were shot while covering the student unrest. The journalists union is set to protest over the attack.
Another man was shot dead by police inside a police station as he went to post bail for a Brotherhood supporter.
State forces continue their clampdown on dissent after a court issued death sentences on 529 Muslim Brotherhood supporters last month.
The sentences are being appealed but another 683 Brotherhood supporters have had their trial adjourned.
Some workers’ action has carried on despite state repression. Doctors are escalating their long running dispute.
Last Monday they declared they would no longer carry out administrative tasks including issuing many sorts of health certificates.
They are demanding an improved and better funded health care system, and a rise in the minimum wage for doctors.
Police arrested human rights lawyer and leading member of the Revolutionary Socialists, Mahienour el-Massry on Friday of last week.
She was accused of holding illegal documents in her bag. They were letters from fellow activists in prison.
Mahienour was sentenced to two years in prison in January and has launched an appeal.
She was released last Saturday and will have to report to a police station on 20 May to hear the result of her appeal.
