Housing activist Nicola Winters has been sacked by the Castle Point Voluntary Network in Southend, Essex.
She took part in community action to defend homeless people by occupying a vacant Hackney council property.
It is claimed that her actions brought the charity into disrepute, even though its mission statement talks about helping the vulnerable in society.
PCS union rep Joel Hirsch represented Nicola. He says that this is an unwarranted attack on the right of people to participate in campaigns searching for a fairer society.
He added that Nicola should be applauded not condemned.
