Hundreds of pensioners and trade unionists marched and demonstrated at parliament last Wednesday.
They lobbied MPs to get support for the Pensioners Charter. This demands a decent state pension for everyone above the official poverty level and based on average male earnings.
There were placards and banners from all over the country.
We intend to harry the government until it reinstates the link with earnings and provides free public transport for all pensioners.
