Teaching and support staff at Central Foundation Girls’ School in Bow, east London struck for a second time on Friday of last week.
NUT and Unison union members joined the walkout.
The first day’s strike won a satisfactory settlement over compulsory redundancies and pay cuts.
But a third proposal to increase teachers’ contact time is still outstanding.
Workers welcomed the settlements over pay and redundancies at a mass meeting on the strike day. They also felt that management needs to move over stress and workload if a satisfactory settlement is going to be found.
Further negotiations were set to take place this week. The NUT has already informed the school of further strike days.
The determination to organise is growing
