Labour’s pledge to protect key services is undermined by its commitment to freeze 95 percent of NHS spending.
This will result in the biggest two-year squeeze on the health service since 1950.
The cuts in areas not “protected”, such as higher education and housing, will be around 13 percent over the next two years. The Tories plan to cut 14 percent across government departments, exempting health and overseas aid.
