NUT union members took to the picket lines on Wednesday of last week in protest at plans to transform their school into an academy.
Around 25 striking teachers picketed at Chestnut Grove school in Wandsworth, south London.
One NUT member told Socialist Worker, “People got a good boost from today—we had good solidarity.
“A couple of parents came to the picket lines as well as sixth form students and lots of delegations of workers from other schools.
“The sixth formers are talking about working with the Anti Academies Alliance. A lot are complaining that they haven’t been consulted.”
Governors last week voted to go ahead with the academy plans. Teachers will meet after the half term break to decide their next steps.
