Three police officers have been charged with perjury and perverting the course of justice at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court.
Cops Paul Adey, Mark Fannon and Paul Greenfield were not asked to enter a plea.
Kingsley Burrell died after coming into contact with the police in 2011.
Police detained Kingsley under the Mental Health Act after he called the police.
The charges of perjury and perverting the course of justice relate to the cops’ accounts of these events.
Kadisha Brown-Burrell, Kingsley’s sister, told Socialist Worker she doesn’t “have faith in the justice system any more.”
The trial is due to begin on 28 November.
