Solidarity from other workers is critical to the fight against post privatisation, says CWU rep Mark Dolan.

“Postal workers are in a strong position right now, and in many parts of the country our union is more than a match for this bullying management,” he told Socialist Worker.

“But Mandelson is putting his political future on the line in the drive to privatise us. That’s why the whole trade union movement should rally around our fight.

“It’s not just about the post – it’s about every public service that’s under threat and every job that’s in danger.

“I urge all trade unionists to make links with the CWU union in their area.

“And if you’re in London on Friday, or Edinburgh on Friday or Saturday, join us on the picket lines.”

The CWU in London is looking to extend the solidarity between unions by co-ordinating future action with RMT members on London Underground, who took part in a solid 48-hour strike last week.
