The campaign for Lorin Sulaiman and her family to stay in Britian received good news last week, when the home office allowed sisters Lorin, 15, Eva, 16, and their mother, Amina, to stay for two years. A 3,500 signature petition organised by Lorin’s mates at Mayfield School, Portsmouth, helped secure the decision.

Marches against racism and backing freedom of movement for migrants were staged in several cities on Saturday in a Europe-wide day of action.
Around 1,000 people marched to a lively rally in Manchester. Three marches — from the north, south and the gay village area — converged in central Manchester.
Afzal Khan, deputy leader of Manchester city council, and NUJ leader Jeremy Dear spoke at the final rally.
Demonstrations were also held in Nottingham, Bristol and Glasgow and more than 400 people staged a noisy and colourful protest in London.
