The UK Border Agency (UKBA) has agreed to look again at the case of journalist James Fallah-Williams who is fighting deportation to Sierra Leone.
James, who was on hunger strike from 1 August, agreed to start eating again after he heard the news. His supporters had previously lobbied the UKBA offices in Liverpool.
James, a journalist and human rights activist, fled Sierra Leone in West Africa at the height of its civil war in 1998.
He studied, worked and volunteered in Britain for ten years with full legal rights, but was refused asylum in 2008.
He has been unable to return to Sierra Leone because of threats resulting from his journalism.
